Rachel Carson Center Fellowships,Germany 2023 is an international program designed by the Christ of Mauch (LMU Munich) and Helmuth Trischler (Deutsches Museum) with an aim to bring together excellent scholars who are conducting their research and their work in environmental history and related disciplines, The Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society invites applications for its cohort of postdoctoral and senior fellows, these are international scholarships which are merit based and skill oriented, writing and speaking skills of the candidate will take the first place.

Postdoctoral and high school fellows are offered fellowships under Rachel Carson Center Fellowships program for the students who are interested to study in Germany.

Value of Scholarship
Selected students will be paid for a replacement of the successful candidate at their home institution otherwise it will also pay stipend that is commensurate with experience and current employment, The amount depends on numerous factors, including the fellow’s current salary level, their level of experience, Fellows can either keep their salary or they receive their own separate fellowship, candidates should demonstrate financial need which can be helped as a point of orientation that the gross basic income of a chair at Bavarian universities is 64,000 euros, that of a tenured associate professor is around 52,000 euros, and that of a tenure-track junior professor is 46,000 euros per annum.

In order to apply for the Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society where the fellowship is offered in various disciplines for international students, the outreach fellowship is intended for candidates whose work promotes public engagement with the topic of transformations in environment and society, The applications are invited from documentary filmmakers and writers in particular, where the Scholars from the humanities should apply together with scholars from the sciences or field practitioners with the purpose of authoring a collaborative project, the candidates can also apply for interdisciplinary scholarship.

Interested candidates can apply for more than one type of fellowship, where the candidate should submit a new application for each type of fellowship, though they apply for various fellowship, the successful candidates will receive one kind of fellowship.
Documents to be submitted
- Cover letter with a maximum word limit of 750 words
- Curriculum vitae written in three pages minimum
- Project description with a maximum word limit of 1000 words
- Research schedule for the fellowship period with a maximum word limit of 300 words
- Names and contact information of three references from scholars where these scholars should be people who know their work well.
Applying candidates can submit applications for different types of scholarships, candidates should submit the completely filled application form with all supporting documents in due time.
