Barbara and James Bennet Postdoctoral Fellowship 2024 is provided for students of any nationality who are interested to pursue postdoctoral studies in the department of chemistry for the candidates who are exhibiting great excellence in research studies, selected fellows will receive an award that compensates the costs associated with attending and presenting an international academic conference.
The fellowships are funded by Simon Fraser University (SFU) to the candidates who are fully employed at SFU as postdoctoral fellows in the Department of Chemistry.

The selected fellow of the Barbara and James Bennet Postdoctoral Fellowship will receive an amount of up to $2,000 along with the costs associated with attending and presenting an international academic conference.
Eligibility Criteria for Barbara and James Bennet Postdoctoral Fellowship 2024
The Barbara and James Bennet Postdoctoral fellowship is offered to the candidates who is possessing full-time employment at SFU as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Chemistry and have demonstrated research excellence at the graduate and postdoctoral level along with an identification of a suitable conference with a high impact for the postdoctoral fellow research career.
Applicants will be evaluated based on their research progress during their postdoctoral fellowship at SFU as determined by the Department of Chemistry Graduate Program Committee.
Target group
Applicants of any nationality who is employed as a full-time employee at Simon Fraser University are eligible to apply for the postdoctoral fellowship.
Documents to be submitted
- a curriculum vitae summarizing scholastic achievements and work relevant to the aims of this award
- one letter of support from their faculty member supervisor
- a statement from the applicant of why they want to attend the chosen conference and how their participation in the conference will advance their career
Application Procedure to Apply for Barbara and James Bennet Postdoctoral Fellowship 2024
All the candidates should submit the Barbara and James Bennet Postdoctoral fellowship application form along with supporting documents to the office of the Department of Chemistry, the applying or the selected awardee are invited to give an oral or poster presentation of their research at the conference.
The awards are granted by the Dean of Graduate Studies on behalf of the Senate Graduate Awards Adjudication Committee, upon the recommendation of the Department of Chemistry’s Graduate Program Committee.
