United States-South Pacific Scholarship Program (USSP) 2024 is given to the students who are the citizens of one of the sovereign Pacific Island nations, including the Cook Islands and other countries who are interested to pursue undergraduate and graduate studies.

The scholarship is a highly competitive, merit-based scholarship program that provides opportunities for academically talented individuals from South Pacific countries, the scholarships are funded by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State, the objective of the scholarship program is to provide an opportunity to understand the culture of United States.

Value of award
The candidates who are selected for the scholarship will receive an award that includes tuition and fees, university residence hall room cots, a monthly stipend for meals and incidental expenses, health insurance, settling in and book allowance, and round-trip air transportation.

Eligibility Criteria for United States-South Pacific Scholarship Program (USSP) 2024

To be eligible to apply for the United States – South Pacific Scholarship Program (USSP) the applicant should satisfy certain criteria such as preference in the selection process is given to those who have not had recent extensive experience in the U.S. or who have not had extensive opportunities for study at educational institutions outside the Pacific Islands region.

Bachelor’s scholarship: To be applicable for the bachelor’s degree the candidate must have a high school diploma at the time of application to apply for bachelor’s degree study. Individuals who have completed some undergraduate-level courses but have not obtained the equivalent of a U.S. four-year bachelor’s degree are also eligible.
Master’s scholarship: To be applicable for the master’s degree the candidate must have completed at least a three-year baccalaureate program and may apply for a one-year bridge program leading to master’s degree study.
Target group
The candidates who are the permanent citizens of one of the sovereign Pacific Island nations, including the Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, Niue, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu are eligible to apply for the United States – South Pacific Scholarship Program (USSP).

The candidates who are applying should submit official transcripts and other degree certificates along with completely filled application form and they must be able to meet the requirements of the Exchange Visitor (J-1 visa) program, application is submitted through LeapFile, by email attachment, or by fax, the original hardcopy application and accompanying documents within due time.
