German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) announced the call for scholarships, DAAD by funding and provides scholarships to developing countries increasing educational cooperation and international academic exchange, these scholarships are for students of Kenyan and Sub-Saharan African Region for M.sc and Ph.D. programs, the scholarships are tenable for the years 2024/2023 and only for the students on a full-time basis, the period of education of these candidates start from September of the year.

Availability of Scholarships
These scholarships are limited to a few students from Kenya and the Sub-Saharan Africa region.

Tenure of scholarships
These scholarships are provided for up to two years, at first, the scholarship is provided only for one year after that on the proposal of the student and the academic the tenure of the scholarship will be extended for 2 years(M.sc) and 3 years(Ph.D.).

Eligibility Criteria of DAAD M.Sc and Ph.D. Scholarships 2024-25

The applicants should have perceived their university degree less than 6 years ago at the time of applying, the applicant should be a resident of Kenya or the Sub-Saharan African region, temporary admission letter or the admission letter as a proof of intake of admission, Ph.D. research proposal including detailed work plan and if the plagiarism is above 24% the application gets rejected.

Signed curriculum vitae scanned in PDF; please use the Europass CV template, a signed copy of this DAAD information sheet for Students, scanned PDF copies of all university degree certificates, certified scanned PDF copies of all university transcripts, at least a temporary admission letter including fee structure of a respective course or proof of admission process,
For Master candidates only:
Letter of motivation (Maximum 2 pages in PDF), academic reference from the senior lecturer, and proof of employment if applicable (scanned PDF copy)
For Ph.D. candidates only:
Ph.D. research proposal including a detailed work plan (10 to 15 pages); plagiarism will be checked and rejected if above 24%, recommendation letter by the head of the department indicating that you are a present or prospective member of staff and how you will be integrated into the staff development agenda of the university, confirmation of study leave from your university, confirmation of teaching release (university staff members only)

Before applying you should have an admission to Kenyatta University in the appropriate subjects given.

Deadline: Expected
The applications expected will be closed in the first week of February 2024 and the pre scholarship selection will be done and notified to the candidates in the last week of February 2024 the candidate preselected needs to be logged on to the DAAD portal and register again, the final selection of candidates will be released on expected in mid-May, 2024.
