Amsterdam Merit Scholarships (AMS) for International Students are offered by the University of Amsterdam which are targeted towards highly talented students of non EU/EEA region that is outstanding meritorious students from outside the European Economic Area can apply for an Amsterdam Merit Scholarship, the idea under the University of Amsterdam scholarships is to offer talented and hard-working non-EU/EEA students an opportunity to pursue a degree in one of the academic fields covered by the University, only selection criteria to award scholarships are academic merits and results.

Amsterdam Merit Scholarships are offered to pursue Masters degree course from the University of Amsterdam, number of scholarships offered are 15.
Fields of study
Masters degree is offered in the fields of Child Development and Education, Communication, Economics and Business, Humanities, Law, Medine, Psychology, Science, Social Sciences for a period of two years.
Value of award
selected candidate should pay the tuition fees where the scholarship is ammounted between €2,000 and €12,000, The scholarship will only be continued for the second year if the AES student has completed all courses of the first year on time and with a grade point average of 8.0.

Candidates from international arena with all necessary requirements are eligible to apply for scholarship.
Eligibility criteria for Amsterdam Merit Scholarships (AMS) for International Students
applying candidates should meet the necessary requirements to apply for the scholarships, where the applicants should not be entitled to receive a Dutch study grant or loan prior to apply, any applicants are not be eligible to pay the reduced tuition fee rate for EEA students at the University of Amsterdam, applicants will not receive a full coverage scholarship for the same period of study as the AMS scholarship,applicants must have submitted a completely filled application to one of the Master’s programmes offered by the University, selected candidates will be admitted to one of the Master’s programmes of university, should be able to demonstrate or comply with the conditions to obtain a Dutch visa.
Application procedure to apply for Amsterdam Merit Scholarships (AMS) for International Students

- proposed research questions
- letter of motivation
Applicants should submit the application for the Master programme of their choice, along with all required documents including valid language test score, candidates will receive their UvA student number and master application file number, with them the applicant should fill out and submit the application form for the Amsterdam Merit Scholarship within due time.
