Grand Challenges Africa Grants is a fund where the innovations and creations of the candidates led to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs) for the countries, Africa Academy Of Sciences Alliance for Accelerating Excellence in Science in Africa (AESA) with the scheme supports the innovations that sustain the African health and developmental challenges everyday, Africa Academy of Sciences Alliance for Accelerating Excellence in Science in Africa administer the Grand Challenges Africa, The Grant Challenge Africa mission is to speed up the development and deployment of the interventions and the innovations targeting communicable and non communicable diseases that affect the mothers, new-born babies and children, medicines approaches and the techniques to identify microbes and other which increase rapidly in mothers and children under 5 years of age

The African Academy of Sciences has launched to offer entrepreneurship as per two year project by providing motivation and solutions and strategies to help the Africa to meet the SDG 3 target for mother, newborn and Child health areas.

The candidates will receive phase I funding which awards the $100,000 USA per two year project to test particularly bold, proof of ideas phase II funding it is for the winners of the Phase I grants, the administrative expects that successful projects Funded at the Phase I by GC Africa, and the partners of the AESA, will have the opportunity to apply for phase II funding directly to GC Africa or to the other association members

Eligibility Criteria for Grand Challenges Africa Grants 2024-25
The candidates who are African investigators association with the African based domestic organisation’s it can be the profit organisations, international organ ations, government agencies, research and academic institutions, the candidates can be working under the non African investigators with an appointment/affiliation it can be from any nine Institut Pasteur institutes in Africa, who are resident in Africa, with at least 18 months service by the time of the award
