YWCA African Women Ambassador Internship Programme 2024 is developed with an intention to develop women in  women’s rights, economic empowerment, women’s health, peace and security, the main intention of the internship program is to ensure or provide  opportunities to the underprivileged and qualified women from Mali, Djibouti, Sierra Leone, Namibia and Zambia, the program is for a period of three months to acquire expertise in different areas and job training and offering mentorship to the african female ambassadors by providing opportunities to them to work with different organisations by linking them to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) including the workings of the Human Rights Council.
Courses offered
YWCA is offering internship program for a period of three months to the women of Mali, Djibouti, Sierra Leone, Namibia and Zambia along with job training and mentorship.
Level of study
The internship is offered in areas such as programme development, leadership, advocacy and communications including  information and communication technology, Women’s health issues, Transformative leadership, Gender based violence, Peace and security, Refugees and Migration.
Value of award
selected candidates will receive a direct route airfare from and to the home country of the participant, Stipend, Allowances and Insurance, a settling in allowance is given at the beginning of the term in the amount of CHF 150, Stipend payments for food and personal needs of CHF1’100 per month for the full period of the internship, Basic health insurance is provided to cover health problems arising during the internship, including monthly premiums and annual deductible costs, to a maximum of CHF 6’000 for the year.

Eligibility criteria for YWCA African Women Ambassador Internship Programme 2024

To be eligible to apply for the internship program the applicant must possess a minimum bachelor’s degree qualification, and possessing masters degree is an additional asset, the applicant should be flexible in their approach and innovative in their ideas, the applicant should be interested in taking initiative and is capable of having problem solving capacity, the candidates should be committed to do development in women’s rights and leadership skills, the candidate should have good knowledge and writing and speaking skills in the language of English and French which is necessary.
Target group
The applicant should be a women citizen from Mali, Djibouti, Sierra Leone, Namibia and Zambia with all necessary criteria are eligible to apply for internship.
Age limit
The applying candidate should have an age limit between 22-29 years.
