Under African Diaspora Mathematicians Program, the postdoctoral grants are offered to the students who were born and raised in Africa and are now full-time employed outside of Africa as professors in mathematics, the applying candidate must have pursued their MA in mathematics in order to be eligible to apply for the African Diaspora Mathematicians Program 2024.
Annually three awards are provided by The Commission for Developing Countries for a period of three years, the main objective hindered under the program is to strengthen appreciation and understanding of mathematics, particularly at the postgraduate level, by utilizing the expertise of African Diaspora mathematicians in collaboration with the mathematicians of Africa and the African diaspora.

Courses offered
The African diaspora is offering postdoctoral studies in Mathematics to the candidates who are interested to pursue their research in developing nations, the candidates should undergo activities like Postgraduate teaching and examination, Postgraduate supervision, Curriculum design or improvement, Research collaboration, Mentorship, Advice on acquisition of software, literature and other educational materials, Deliver public talks to the general public on the potential of mathematics and STEM for development.
Value of award
selected candidates will be granted an amount of Euro 7,000 annually, of this Euro 6,000 covers airfare, travel insurance, visa processing, and living expenses for 3 to 6 weeks at the host university in Africa, Euro 1,000 per year which cover educational material such as books, software, journals, and other learning material, to be left to the host institution.
Eligibility criteria for African Diaspora Mathematicians Program 2024
Interested candidates who are applying for the African diaspora mathematics program the applicant should be a Mathematician with a Ph.D. who was born and raised in Africa and are now full-time employed outside of Africa as a professor in the field of mathematics.
The candidates should have Mathematics academic units at any university in Africa that are intended to or interested to build long-term connections with African Diaspora Mathematicians and hopefully the home institution of the Diaspora Mathematician.
