The Australia International Postgraduate Research Scholarships 2024 (IPRS) program is designed or developed to provide financial support international students to undertake a postgraduate research qualification in Australia and gain experience with leading Australian researchers, The IPRS scheme was established to with an objective to maintain and develop international research linkages and specifically aims to top quality international postgraduate students to areas of research strength in the Australian higher education sector,and support Australia’s research effort, HEP is the funding agency of IPRS scholarships.
Courses offered
Selected students are offered by Masters by research degree or Doctorate Degree offered by participating Universities in Australia.
Value of award
The Australia scholarship covers tuition fees and health cover costs for scholarship holders, and health cover costs for their dependents,The scholarships are available for a period of two years for a research masters degree or three years for a research doctorate degree.
Eligibility criteria for Australia International Postgraduate Research Scholarships 2024
To be eligible to apply for International Postgraduate Research Scholarships a student must be an overseas student as defined in the Act and meet international student visa requirements as specified by including the requirement to purchase and maintain a standard Overseas Student Health Cover policy approved by the Australian Government and should be enrolled for the first time in a HDR at a HEP in Australia that is an eligible scholarship, and the candidate must be undertaking study in a subject area identified as one of its areas of research concentration, it is provided on academic merit.
Non eligibility
Applicant should not hold a research qualification regarded by the HEP to be equivalent to an Australian Research Doctorate or, if undertaking a Research Masters, not hold a research qualification regarded by the HEP to be equivalent to or higher than an Australian Research Masters and not have held an AusAID scholarship within the two years prior to commencing the IPRS and not be receiving a scholarship for which course tuition is a component under any other scholarship scheme to which the Australian Government.

All International students of all countries and the citizens except from New Zealand are eligible to apply for the scholarship.
Application procedure to apply for Australia International Postgraduate Research Scholarships 2024
HEPs will conduct a competitive application process for awarding IPRS scholarships under the program, completely filled applications for IPRS are to be submitted in the form approved by the HEP,candidate must include the statement on the application form, immediately prior to the applicant’s signature block that is assigned directly in the form,Applications for a scholarship need to be made directly to participating Universities. Students need to approach the scholarship office at their chosen university for direction about the process to apply for an IPRS.
