Government of Finland is offering scholarships for international student, who are wishing to have their Doctoral or research studies in finland, the government is about to release a limited number of scholarships for a research program held for a period of 3 – 9 months,the hidden objective under the Finland Government Scholarship is to provide financial assistance for the young researchers students form all the field, this scholarship cannot be applied for Master’s level studies or post-Doctoral studies or research studies.

Stipend and duration
the Finland Scholarship offer a Euro 1500 which excludes charges of travel, international or in Finland and also the students are informed to make sure with their sufficient health insurance to stay in Finland.
Eligibility criteria for Finland Government Scholarships 2020-21 International Students
applying candidate should receive a letter of invitation or offer from the university of Finland before they apply for the scholarship, applicant must possess a Master’s-level degree from an accredited university before applying, and must have intended to pursue post-Master’s level studies as a visiting student, participate in a research project or teach at a university or public research institute in Finland where the priority will be given to doctoral studies and the candidate must be able to demonstrate good oral and speaking skills in languages that are needed in studies at university.
Applicants belonging to Australia, China, Cuba, Egypt, Israel, Japan, Mexico, Mongolia, Namibia, Peru, Republic of Korea, Turkey, Ukraine, USA are eligible to apply for scholarship.
Application procedure to apply for Finland scholarship
- a completed and signed application form
- curriculum vitae
- copies of latest diplomas or academic transcripts
- two letters of recommendation
- statement of research proposal
- motivation or interest of cooperation from academic supervisor
- language certificate (Finnish, Swedish or English)
Filling of application form is not online where the form should be saved in document where the form should be typed throughout, application form can be obtained from national scholarship authorities or directly from CIMO, no original documents should be submitted as CIMO will not return the documents further

The annual deadline set by the Finnish National Agency for Education for the nomination of Finland Government Scholarship candidates by the national contact authorities is 15 February, 2020, interested candidates can apply before deadline.
