The Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Academy of Society has started a fund called Gandhi smarak Nidhi for the development of higher education in East Africa, this is funded by the Government of India and three East African colonies, the scholarships are provided by the University of Nairobi, The aim of the scholarship is to assist the students of Kenya who are interested in pursuing post-graduation degree or Master’s degree from the university, the funds of the scholarship is provided for one year where the candidate can re-apply for the extension of the funds for further years.

Eligibility Criteria for Gandhi Smarak Nidhi Fund Scholarship 2024-25 at the University of Nairobi
The following are the criteria an applicant must be possessed in order to be eligible for the scholarship, Applying candidates must have attained at least an Upper Second Class Honours or its equivalent at the Bachelors level, The candidate must receive an offer from the university before the candidate applies for the scholarship, Scrutiny of the applications and the selection will be completely based on merit.

Candidates who are permanent residents of countries in East Africa with all necessary requirements are eligible to apply for the scholarship.
