Initially higher studies scholarship are provided by International Higher Degree by Research Stipend Scholarship which later replaced by the International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IRPS), Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) scholarships are funded by the federal government to provide support to postgraduate research students of exceptional academic merit, the scholarships are provide for a period of three years.

Eligibility criteria for University of Canberra Research Degree Scholarships 2024-25
Applicant must be wishing to enroll, or enrolled, as a full-time Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) student, must have hold a minimum of first-class honors (H1) or its equivalent from the university, candidate should not have previously held an Australian Government-funded research scholarship for more than 6 months, and they should have a good proficiency in English.
