The Chevening OCIS Fellowship, UK is aimed to provide good academics and encourage them in gaining a complete understanding of the culture and civilization of Islam and contemporary Muslim societies to the mid-career academics or professionals, the fellow ship provides a six months period of research in the field of Islamic history, classical Islamic sciences, economics and Islamic finance, and the study of Muslims in the West.
Award:
The award is given to the selected students who arr interested in pursuing 6 month period of research at OCIS. Number of scholarships is not specified.
Value of award:
The selected candidate will be awarded fellowship which includes living expenses for the duration of the Fellowship , along with allowance package for study related activities. Number of scholarships depend on availability of funds.
Eligibility Criteria for OCIS Fellowship 2024-25 in UK for Mid-Career Professionals
The following are the criteria that the contesting candidate should posses to apply for the Chevening-Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies (OCIS) Fellowship . Candidate should return to their home country at the end of the period of fellowship.Candidate should not hold dual nationality as only one nationality is accepted for application.
Educational Qualifications:
Candidate should poses a postgraduate level qualification or equivalent professional training or experience in a relevant area at the time of application, applicant must attain professional and/or academic research experience for a minimum of 5 years.
Age limit:
The candidate should have an age as prescribed by released notification are eligible to apply for the scholarship
Nationality:
The students from Afghanistan, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Brunei, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Libya, Malaysia, Mauritania, Morocco, Myanmar, Nigeria, Pakistan, The Occupied Palestinian Territories, Philippines, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syria, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan are eligible to apply for the scholarship.
