The International Women’s Media Foundation (IWMF) is providing fellowships for the interested, talented as well as creative students who want to endure their services in Media and its related field, two groups of each containing six members are selected for the trips, one group of six journalists will report from Lubumbashi and surrounding areas in southeast Katanga province. Concurrently, a second group of six journalists will work in Goma, North Kivu province.
Award:
The groups are selected by International Women’s Media Foundation (IWMF). Value of award:
The IWMF provides all the Fellowship related costs including travel, lodging, meals, and fixers/interpreters, unless a selected journalist’s news organization wishes to accept all these costs. Visa costs will also be covered. The awarded candidates living outside the U.S. are responsible for procuring all necessary visas, for which they will be reimbursed at the end of the Fellowship.
Eligibility Criteria and Educational Qualification for IWMF Fellowship 2024
- Interested and affiliated women journalists currently working full-time in the news media, with three or more years of professional experience. Internships do not count toward professional experience.
- The candidates who are non-native English speakers must be proficient in English in order to fully participate in and benefit from the program.
- Applicants must be able to show proof of interest from an editor or have a proven track record of publication in prominent media outlets that is letter from editor is given high preference.
Nationality
The fellowships are open to all the women journalists who want to exhibit their talents in global arena.
