The University of Bern is providing scholarships to the students who are interested in pursuing doctoral research in Switzerland in the fields of study offered by the university, the applying candidates should have completed their Master’s degree as the scholarships are offered based on the academic merit, the scholarship is provided by the University of Bern for a period of 3 years, Applicants shall have completed all of their studies-to-date outside of Switzerland.
Award:
The award is given to the selected students who are interested in pursuing doctoral research in Switzerland in the fields of study offered by the university, Number of scholarships is fifteen (15). The scholarship is awarded by the University of Bern.
Value of award:
The candidates who are selected for the fellowship will receive 50% of the wages for the 3 year period. The payment amount of the scholarship amount is according to the regulations of the Swiss National Fund (SNF).

Eligibility Criteria for University of Bern (UniBE) Doctoral Scholarships 2024-25
The following are the criteria that the contesting candidate should possess to apply for the University of Bern Doctoral Scholarships in Switzerland 2024-25, Applying candidates will have completed all of their studies to date outside of Switzerland, and achieved outstanding grades to be eligible for the fellowship.
Educational qualification:
- Applying candidate must hold a master’s degree or a licentiate from a Swiss university or Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, or an equivalent university degree.
- Students must also fulfill any other requirements set out by the relevant faculty of graduate school
- Other additional qualifications.
