Japan Research Center (JRC) inviting applications for Sasakawa Foundation Studentship made possible through the liberality of The Nippon Foundation and the Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation. Applicants pursuing 2-year full-time Master’s courses can get scholarship details and apply on or before the deadline.
Total No.of Studentship: 3 Scholarship
Studentship Value: Selected students will get a studentship of £10,000 (untaxed). The studentship will be paid in 3 installments i.e £3,300 at the start of Terms 1 & 2, and £3,400 at the start of Term 3.

Sasakawa Foundation Postgraduate Studentship 2024 Eligibility Criteria
International students pursuing full-time Postgraduate Taught Masters Degree Programmes, MPhil/Ph.D. student, Current Masters students enrolled in Year 1 are eligible for the scholarship. The applicant should be proficient in the English Language. Masters Degree students should also provide evidence that their dissertation is on a theme connected with Japan

- Academic transcripts
- An explanation of the grading system for any degrees obtained outside of the UK
- Two reference Letters
- CV and a personal statement include details of the applicant’s skills in Japanese and future academic or career plans.
- MPhil/Ph.D. applicants must also submit a research proposal whose thesis topic focuses on any aspect of Japan.
