Ministry of education is offering scholarships to the students of international arena to the candidates are interested in pursuing huayu courses registered Mandarin Language Center approved by the MOE, Applying candidates who are selected will be provided with opportunities to increase applicants understanding of Taiwanese culture and society, and to promote mutual understanding and interactions between Taiwan and the international community which improve diplomatic relations.
Award: The award is given to the students who are interested in pursuing huayu courses registered Mandarin Language Center approved by the MOE.Number of scholarships are not specified.
Value of award:
The selected candidates will be offered with scholarships which will include a monthly stipend of NT $25,000 (Approximately US $781.25).
Eligibility Criteria for Taiwan Government MOE Huayu Courses Scholarships 2019-2020
The following are the eligibility criteria that a candidate must meet to apply for Taiwan Government Huayu Courses Scholarships for International Students in Taiwan 2019-2020. The candidate should demonstrate good moral character and language skills.Candidates receiving financial benefits from Taiwan government agencies or colleges and universities in Taiwan are not eligible to apply.
- the applying candidate possess a high school diploma or above with good academic performance.
- TOEFL 550, IELTS 5.5 or pass university’s entrance examination or the candidate from English as mode of instruction should take free language test.
Age limit :
Applying candidate should have age above 18 as specified in the official notification . Candidate should visit the website before applying the scholarship.
the applying candidates should be from international arena except from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao SAR students are eligible to apply for the scholarship.

- Two Letters of recommendation
- recent transcript of grades
- essay with a word limit of 500 words
