The USDA/1890 National Scholars Program provides scholarship to the high school seniors who are entering their first year of college including the rising college sophomores and juniors, the aim of the scholarship is to increase the number of minorities pursuing studies in the fields of agriculture, food, natural resource sciences, and the related disciplines, the winning candidates will get fully funded scholarship including all related expenses.
Award: The award is given to the students belonging to high school seniors who are entering their first year of college including the rising college sophomores and juniors.
Value of award:
The value of the scholarship includes full tuition, employment, employee benefits, fees, books, and room and board each year for up to 4 years to selected students provided annually.
Eligibility Criteria for The USDA/1890 National Scholars Program 2024-25
The following are the eligibility criteria that a candidate must meet to apply for The USDA / 1890 National Scholars Program- USA, Applying candidate should be from US nationality to apply for the scholarship, the criteria will not be changed on any basis.
Educational qualification:
- Candidate should attain a GPA of 3.0 or better (on a 4.0 scale)
- Candidate must hold admission or currently attending one of the nineteen 1890 Historically Black Land-Grant Universities.
- posses agriculture, food, natural resource sciences, or other related academic disciplines
- Candidate must demonstrate leadership and community service

- essay with a word limit of 500-800 words
- signed application if the candidate is below 18 years.
