    The Open Society Initiative for West Africa (OSIWA) Grants 2024 which is based in Dakar and has offices in Abuja, Monrovia, Freetown, and Conakry is a grant-making and advocacy foundation that is part of the global Open Society Foundations Network, OSIWA supports local organizations by providing grants that are with effective strategies that respond to the broader deep-seated political, justice and socio-economic roadblocks to open society in West Africa,

    The main objective of the initiative is to offer new opportunities and develop novel methods, including technology and the arts, to find a solution to open society challenges OSIWA provides financial support to develop open societies in West Africa to make them work in the fields of democracy, good governance, the rule of law, basic freedoms, and widespread civic participation.

    Value of award
    There is no amount that is fixed rigidly for OSIWA funding, OSIWA can extend its grants only to ten countries that are in West Africa along with its regional program, it is not a fully-funded initiative where OSIWA cannot fund the entire project budget, it may choose to fund part of it and request the grant seeker to source for the outstanding balance.

    Eligibility criteria for Open society Initiative for West Africa (OSIWA) Grant 2024

    OSIWA’s main aim is to grant funds to local organizations based in West Africa, under certain conditions the initiative extends its wings it provides support to West Africa-based international organizations with a strong commitment to transfer knowledge to local groups they partner with, It provides grants to government institutions as well as regional and sub-regional organizations working in the strategy of the initiative, the proposals made by the organization are scrutinized to the extent to which the organization possesses the vision, drive, experience, and skills required to create and sustain a project that will advance its objectives.

    Application procedure for Open society Initiative for West Africa (OSIWA) Grants 2024

    Interested candidates can submit a complete proposal, budget, and other relevant documents including leadership information which contains a list of Board members, trustees, and management staff who will be involved in the project, proof of registration, and banking details are to be emailed through proposals@osiwa.org. Only proposals sent to this email address will be considered, proposals made should contain Address a need, Research, Structured, Additional support, Feasibility, Innovation, A well-written proposal for a weak, unnecessary, or unfeasible project or a poorly written proposal for a potentially good project may both be denied funding.
