The Newton International Fellowship is for the people who had started their research career and has the capability to become the world class and can maintain links with leading scientists in UK, it is annually giving scholarship under three societies jointly which are the British Academy, the Academy of medical sciences and the Royal society, currently there is one round per year and that opens in January every year, so for the interested candidates in this article i am going to discuss application process and some of the required things for the scholarship so, go through the article

Available no. of scholarships
These scholarships provided by the joint organizations under the name Newton international fellowships for Early-career scientists are providing a limited number of scholarships for the students belonging to few regions

Fellowship value
The fellowship will be of 2 years and in the span of 2 years, the scholarship provides £24,000 as subsistence cost(meaning which will support up to a minimum level), for research expenses £8,000 per annum and an off payment for relocation of £2,000 for 2 years, awards include a contribution to the overheads incurred, at a rate of 50% of the total award to the visiting researcher, these applicants can also get £6,000 annually if they are to support networking activities of UK-researchers following the tenure of their fellowship.

Span of Fellowship
This is a two year fellowship offered by the the British Academy, the Academy of medical sciences and the Royal society.

Eligibility Criteria for Newton International Fellowships 2024-25

the candidate should have a Phd before or by the starting of fellowship, at the time of applying the candidate should have a postdoctoral experience of maximum 7 years (including the teaching experience but excluding the career breaks,should be outside UK and a non-resident of UK, can compete in oral and written English, should have a research proposal with a Uk host scientist which is clearly defined and mutually beneficial.

Nationality
The fellowship is given only to the candidates of residents of few countries, the countries are Brazil, China, Mexico, South Africa and Turkey.

Process to Apply for Newton International Fellowships 2024-25

The application process is so simple, it is purely online, the interested candidates need to apply through the Royal societies electronic grant application system (E-GAP), applications are initially reviewed by two members of the Newton International Fellowships panel and then shortlisted, these applications which are short listed are then reviewed again by the panel and the final decision is made.
