Michael Elliott Award for Excellence in African Storytelling is a contest to award passionate storytellers of Africa, The winner will also spend time in U.S. newsrooms to learn new skills and receive mentorship from ICFJ, helping to catalyze additional reporting that engages and empowers Africans, number of awards are one.

The African candidate who has been selected for the award will receive a $5,000 cash prize to pursue an in-depth reporting project.
Eligibility Criteria for Michael Elliott Award 2024 for Excellence
The applicant should clearly go through the eligibility criteria before applying for the contest where, the contest is open to upcoming, English-speaking journalists working for print, broadcast, and online news media based in Africa, Applicants must submit a published story or series that reflects top-notch storytelling about important issues.
Along with that the submissions can include featured stories in-depth, investigative or explanatory pieces, or multimedia reports or documentaries, Published stories or broadcasts must be submitted in English, whereas works in other languages must include English translations.

Application Procedure to Apply for Michael Elliott Award 2024 for Excellence
