The Mastercard Foundation was organised in the year 2006 with an aim to offer access to education, skills training and financial services for people living in poverty based in Africa, the MasterCard Foundation provides equal opportunities to all the people irrespective of their financial needs to learn prosper, the MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program is committed to support education and leadership development of young people, program benefits candidates by providing network of partners, who can ensure academic talent and promise that they don’t exceed their financial resources, are equipped with the knowledge and skills to be future ethical leaders.

Number of Awards:
The Mastercard Foundation in partnership with the University of Edinburgh will provide 200 full postgraduate and undergraduate scholarships to students from Africa.

Fields of study:
The University of Edinburgh will offer 80 undergraduate and 120 postgraduate African students with full time and full funding scholarships.

Value of the award:
The scholarship will provide full scholarships, including accommodation costs, living costs, travel and tuition fees to students taking courses on campus at Edinburgh.

Eligibility criteria for The MasterCard Foundation Scholarships 2024-25

Candidates who are interested in pursuing Mastercard scholarships should demonstrate the criteria that are mentioned, applicants are to be able to present insufficient financial stability and lack of any other financial means from any other means or other sources to pursue post-secondary education in candidates home country or elsewhere, applicants should qualify academically for admission to graduation and post graduate courses from the University of Edinburgh.

Target group:
Candidate must be a resident and citizen of a Sub-Saharan African country, where applications from Malawi, Nigeria, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe are particularly invited.

Application procedure of The MasterCard Foundation Scholarships 2024-25 for Kenyans

Applicants should supply the application with all necessary materials through online mode, successful applicants who are selected for scholarship will be assisted in the process of applying for admission to the University, Applicants are selected through interviews via video or phone will be held during the months of February and March, with final decisions made by April. All successful applicants will join the Program in September.

Applications for mastercard scholarships will open in early October with a closing date of 30 November 2024, candidate should note the closing date is provisional that is it may change any time as per discretion of university.
