The Huayu Enrichment scholarship program was introduced by ministry of education, republic of China to encourage students to undertake language oriented program like Mandarin courses to study Chinese in Taiwan in order to provide them with opportunities to study authentic Chinese, to increase their understanding of Taiwanese culture and society and to promote mutual understanding and interactions between Taiwan and the international community. Award:
The award is given to the students who want to pursue studies in Chinese languages in UK. The award is given by The British Association for Chinese Studies, Number of awardees is according to the funds available as well as with the discretion of university.
Value of award:
The selected candidate is given a monthly stipend of NT$25,000 which includes fees and to contribute to maintenance expenses. The courses provided nine-month, six-month, three-month and two-month language programmes at approved centers in Taiwan.
Eligibility Criteria for BACS-Taiwan Huayu Enrichment Scholarships 2024-25
The following are the eligibility criteria that a student must posses to be applicable for scholarship:
Age limit:
The applying candidate should have the age limit above 18 are eligible to apply for the scholarship
Nationality:
All candidates around the world except the students from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao students are eligible to apply.
Educational Qualification:
- Candidate who possess A-Levels or its equivalent qualifications in their higher education
- Candidate should have an excellent academic record with good academic score
- Applicants should be of good moral character are eligible.
- English language Requirements: Applicants from outside the home country will often need to meet specific English language/other language requirements in order to be able to study there.
Application procedure to apply for BACS- Taiwan Huayu Enrichment scholarships for International students – 2024-25
Documents required:
- An application form (provided by BACS).
- A scanned copy of his/her UK passport.
- Scanned copies of the certificates of his/her highest academic qualification.
- Current university students that is who have not yet graduated should include a copy of their most recent transcript of study.
- Proof of application to a recognized Taiwanese language center.
Applying candidate should sent their application form along with all the documents mentioned above to the university either by e- mail or by post.
